Word from Honorary President, David Houston;
It was with great pleasure that I watched the scores of both of our two teams in the Andrew Hamilton Trophy and it was with great regret that, owing to ill health, I was unable to be present at any of the games.
As both teams went on to win and qualify for the Quarter Finals stage, and even have the hope that both may go all the way and play each other in the Final, was maybe a dream, but in theory possible.
Unfortunately it was not to be, but I wish to express my congratulations to the players of both teams for a job well done. The South team unfortunately lost in the Quarter Finals but are obviously ready to go all the way next year. My huge congratulations must go to the North team for going all the way and winning the Andrew Hamilton Trophy. This hasn’t happened too often in recent years and my thanks go to President Colin Milroy, the Directors, and all the back room boys involved in the selection of each team throughout 2023.
It has been a notable year for Ayrshire bowling and my wish is that all goes as well, in fact, better, in 2024.
David Houston

Glasgow v Ayrshire
With Ayrshire three rinks short of Glasgows total rinks, Glasgow are trying to get another couple of rinks to make up the numbers. We are giving the draw till the weekend before emailing to the clubs in the hope that Glasgow can get a few more to tally-up the numbers.
If any Ayrshire Club thinks they cannot field a rink, please let me know soonest, as this will help the Ayrshire numbers. Please bear with us this week as we are trying our best to get every entry a game before Glasgow & i email the draw. Erik

Ladies & Gents,
Every year the Ayrshire President choses a nominated charity. President Colin Milroy this season has decided to nominate Ayrshire Hospice as his chosen charity for season 2023.
Colin contacted Ayrshire Hospice to arrange for a couple of collection boxes to be available throughout the season. Colin also thought it may be a good idea to contact our Clubs to see if they would be willing or interested to support this charity with a bar collection box or any other means of collection.
The Fundraising manager at Ayrshire Hospice is Graeme Hawthorn and would gladly chat to any club willing to help.
He would love to be able to launch an initiative with all the bowling clubs in Ayrshire and if this is a venture your club might be interested in then he would be happy to have a chat with you if you wish to contact him on the number below.
